Scholarships

Collarts scholarships provide financial assistance to both domestic and international students studying creative courses. Designed to support talented and motivated learners, these scholarships help reduce the cost of study so you can focus on building industry-ready skills and progressing toward a career in the creative industries.

Collarts Domestic Scholarships

Collarts domestic scholarships are available to eligible Australian students seeking financial support during their studies.  

Two new scholarships, for 15 places are on offer for Trimester 1, 2026 

  1. Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarship 
  2. Equity Scholarship (including $500 equipment grant) 

These opportunities are designed to support creative potential, ease financial pressure, and help you concentrate on developing your craft and career pathway.

New Scholarships for Trimester 1, 2026 

 Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship is to recognise students with exceptional creative talent, leadership and academic potential in their chosen area of study.  

5 scholarship places are available, and those who have applied for Trimester 1, 2026, are eligible to apply. Applications are now open and will close at the end of Week 1. 

Inclusions: 

  • 15% fee reduction for Trimester 1, 2026 
  • Breakfast with the Dean and Senior academic leaders 
  • 1 industry VIP event experience with a Collarts’ Industry Partner (e.g. ACMI, MIFF, Melbourne Fashion Week, Melbourne Comedy Festival) 
  • Invitation to Collarts Graduate Showcase events aligned to course interest 

Eligibility Criteria 

You must:  

  • Be enrolled in Trimester 1, 2026 
  • Meet standard entry requirements for your chosen course   

Submit a portfolio before the publication deadline 

  • It must demonstrate creative work relevant to your chosen course
  • Format may include digital portfolio link, PDF, showreel, photography folio, writing samples, or other approved discipline formats 

Submit statement (maximum 300 words) to support your portfolio submission 

  • Why you are applying for the Dean’s Academic Excellence Scholarship
  • How your portfolio demonstrates your creative strengths and potential
  • What you hope to achieve at Collarts 
  • How you will contribute to the Collarts community 

Dean’s Scholarship Selection Criteria 

Recipients will be selected based on the following: 

1. Creative excellence and potential 

  • Portfolio demonstrates high-quality work and strong technical capability relative to stage and experience
  • Evidence of originality, creativity, and personal voice
  • Strong alignment with your chosen discipline and pathway 

2. Motivation and readiness to succeed 

  • The 200-300-word statement clearly demonstrates commitment, intent, and readiness to engage fully in study
  • You demonstrate professionalism and follow through in completing requirements on time 

3. Leadership and community contribution potential 

Demonstrate potential to contribute positively to Collarts through: 

  • Collaboration and peer support
  • Participation in campus life
  • Willingness to engage in student voice and leadership opportunities 

4. Awarding approach (fairness and representation) 

  • Scholarships are limited and competitive.
  • Recommended allocation: across clusters (to ensure representation across disciplines).
  • Final selection to be endorsed by a Collarts selection panel, chaired by the Dean (or nominee), using a scoring rubric.

Collarts First in Family Scholarships

This Scholarship is for those who are the first in their family to study at a higher education level, meaning your parents or guardians don't have a university degree.  

  • 15% off trimester fees
Eligibility criteria 

You must: 

  • Be a new domestic student commencing Trimester 1 2026, in an eligible on campus course
  • Meet standard course entry requirements
  • Self-declare that they are the first person in their immediate family (parent or guardian level) to attend higher education
  • Accept your course offer and enrol for Trimester 1, 2026 
Verification 
  • When applying to your desired course, you must self-declaration tick box or short declaration statement  

Exclusions and conditions 
  • Not available to students already enrolled at Collarts  
  • Cannot be combined with other scholarships unless approved
  • Applies to Trimester 1, 2026 tuition fees only
  • This scholarship is allocated on a first eligible, first enrolled basis until the places are filled. 

Collarts Current Student Alumni Scholarships

This Scholarship is for students who are progressing from one Collarts course to another, to support you in your further study.  

  • 10% tuition scholarship 

Eligibility criteria 

You must:  

  • Be a current Collarts student 
  • Progressing from one Collarts course to another, either:
  • VET to Undergraduate course, Undergraduate course to another undergraduate course, undergraduate course to a post graduate course

This is an invite only scholarship for industry partners wanting to study a Graduate Diploma in Creative Industries.

Collarts International Scholarships

At Collarts, we’re committed to supporting talented international students who want to pursue their passion for the creative arts in Australia. Our international scholarships are designed to make study more accessible and rewarding, with eligible students able to receive up to $12,000 AUD towards a bachelor’s degree or $4,000 AUD towards a diploma.  
 
Scholarships are competitive, limited in number, and awarded at the discretion of Collarts. Applicants are encouraged to apply early and ensure they meet all requirements. 

By choosing Collarts, you’ll join a vibrant creative community in Melbourne while receiving financial support to help make your study goals a reality. 

Eligibility Criteria 

  • Have an IELTS score of 7.0 overall or equivalent with no band below 6.0, or have a GPA of 75% or above in their previous studies.
  • Scholarships are only available to applications from specific regions.
  • Submission of a 300-word statement along with their application explaining why they should be awarded the scholarship. 

Successful scholarships recipients must 

  • Comply with their visa conditions and obligations as Collarts students
  • Pay their fees on time.
  • Maintain a credit (65%) average or above in their Collarts studies. 

Terms & Conditions 

  • The scholarship type and amount will be outlined in the Letter of Offer.
  • Only one type of scholarship is permitted per student. If a student receives Recognition of Prior Learning, the scholarship amount will vary based on the credits granted.
  • Scholarships may not apply to any course changes during the study period if this results in additional trimesters.
  • Collarts may increase fees each calendar year by a certain percentage, and fees quoted in offer letters are approximate only.
  • All scholarship information is subject to change, and final confirmation should be obtained directly from Collarts.
  • Scholarships are not redeemable for cash.
  • Collarts reserves the right to change, withhold, or alter any scholarship terms, amounts, or conditions if permitted by policy or regulation.
